The Sin "Rules"

I don't quite understand why we hold people to standards that God does not. What is the difference between someone who struggles with a habit and someone who eats too much? Why is it okay to rip someone to shreds behind their back...but not to be in debt? I'm NOT being soft on sinful habits that are unpleasing to God. I'm not. If you think I am....PAY ATTENTION...I am not. What I am in favor of is grace. Grace and truth. The kind Jesus showed in John 8. The kind God showed in Romans 5:8. The kind that saved me and keeps me. Where do we get off adding all of these cultural rules to the Gospel? God help us to extend grace to our fallen brothers and sisters...the same grace you have shown us.
