There are some verses in the Bible that just jump right out and smack you in the face. Call it "stepping on toes", "hitting below the belt", getting "all up in your grill", our a "burn"...the Word is truly a "double edge sword"! Last night I was thinking about something I witnessed. About 3 different times I wanted to tell what i ad seen.But this one verse jumped in my face and put me in my place:
Proverbs 17:9
He who covers over an offense promotes love,
but whoever repeats the matter separates close friends.
Think about how much unnecessary junk we repeat. We tell our tales of being wronged or who so and so told so and so off. But do we ever ask ourselves why? Why do I need to repeat this? Why do I need to share this "juice"? Why do I need to replay this drama? I don't know about you, but these questions make me really do some soul searching.
God help us to promote love.
