Here are some reasons why I love going to church:
- Family. Some of my dearest friendships where formed through a local church. I am closer to my church family then I am to some of my biological family.
- Worship. There is power when people come together to worship God. Can we worship alone? Yes, but God instructs us to not forsake meeting together.
- Growth. When you get around different people you will be faced with many challanges. One of those is change. Church creates an enviroment that fosters spiritual, relational, and personal growth.
- Love. My local church provides me an avenue to give and recieve the love of Christ. This comes through a variety of missions and ministry opportunities.
You can experience most of these things by yourself. But God created us for community. The local church is that community. It can be a house church, an orthodox church, or 10 people praying and being Christ-like together. Whatever it is...get plugged in to a local body of believers.
