Everything must change. This is has become my mantra for 2008 and hopefully beyond. The status quo has gotten us nowhere fast. If we are to reverse the decline that is all around us (spiritually, financially, and relationally), then we must change. Our methods, our vocabulary, and our world view must take their place in the fire of change. Change is hard, messy, and often a long process. Nevertheless, it is necessary. Here are some things that I will change starting today:
My sermon delivery (more dialoge and metaphor to support proposition, eliminate "churchy cliches" altogether)
More quiet meditation and reflection during prayer (balanced with fervent prayer)
A new level of stewardship (give more away)
Increase dialouge with those who do not follow Christ
Get out of the office
